Politics must fulfil its duty by creating the right conditions – especially for making career and family more compatible. The Federal Government, along with the Bundesländer and municipalities, recognizes its responsibility; this is evident in the new parental allowance and the increased efforts to expand childcare and all-day schools. Both initiatives support young families and encourage people to go back to work.
A growing number of companies and organizations are recognizing the value of gender equality. They know that motivated employees are creative and innovative. And so the ideas of equal opportunity and family-friendliness are increasingly finding a place in personnel policy, in management structures and corporate philosophies.
